Stationpedia

In 1934, Enrico Fermi noticed that bombarding uranium with neutrons produced a burst of beta rays, and a new material. This process was named 'nuclear fission', and resulted in cheap energy, the Cold War, and countless thousand deaths. While reasonably common throughout the Solar System, Stationeers are wary of the material.

Usage

Unlike the name suggests, Uranium is currently not intended for any energy-releasing applications. Not even the Nuclear battery contains it in its recipe. The only utility of Uranium currently is that you can use it to off-gas a lot of Pollutant used for Coolant.

Obtaining

Ore (Uranium) is mined throughout the surface and underground of a planet or an asteroid using a Mining Drill.

Smelting one Uranium Ore produces the following gases at 574.15 K (301.0 °C):

35 mol Pollutant
