(Tips: Updated to note that CO2 lacks the same toxicity as it has IRL)
(Tips: Zrillians breathe volatiles, not hydrogen (which isn't a thing currently, and isn't what volatiles are even once it becomes a thing, according to patch notes))

## Note that unlike real life, where concentrations of CO2 as low as 7-10% can cause asphyxiation, CO2 in Stationeers is entirely safe.  Players can comfortably breathe even very large ratios of CO2, as long as sufficient partial pressure of oxygen (specifically, 16 kPa) is also present.

Filters are used to filter out gas from an input. Only gasses matching the filters type will pass through it.

All filters of the same size cost the same regardless of type and can be made in the Hydraulic Pipe Bender.

Filter Size[edit]

  • Small filter lasts 2 hours.
  • Medium filter lasts 10 hours.
  • Large filter lasts 40 hours.
  • Catalytic Filter lasts an unlimited amount of time, but are only available in creative mode.
  • The duration is counted as the number of ticks the filter is being used, and only counts ticks in which the filter removed the targeted gas from the input volume. If none of the target gas is present in the input volume, the filter will not count as being used and will not degrade.

Filter Types[edit]

Tips[edit]

  1. Players start the game with three filters, three CO2 filters in the suit.
  2. Players breathe out CO2 (just like in real life) and this may need to be considered when setting up a pressurized atmosphere where a helmet will not be worn.
    1. Note that unlike real life, where concentrations of CO2 as low as 7-10% can cause asphyxiation, CO2 in Stationeers is entirely safe. Players can comfortably breathe even very large ratios of CO2, as long as sufficient partial pressure of oxygen (specifically, 16 kPa) is also present.
  3. Arc Furnaces and Furnaces produce waste products like pollutants or CO2 which will need to be scrubbed out of a pressurized base (assuming the Furnace is not already hooked up to a Pipe system)
  4. If you're choosing to play as a Zrilian you will instead have 3 Nitrous Oxide filters instead of 3 CO2 filters as they breath in Volatiles and exhale Nitrous Oxide instead of CO2.
