Description
Used to grow organs for players.[1] As of 06/09/2020 you are able to enter a powered cryotube and "regrow" damage to my lungs.
The Cryo tube has one gas input and one power input and one data input. For it to function properly, feed a 10-20C 80/20 oxygen-nitrogen mix into the gas input. Possibly be sure to have a system to filter out C02.
Since the Deep Miner/Centrifuge/Chute Update (9/20/22), the Cryotube works when filled with an oxygen-nitrogen mixed gas, and that gas will expel from the tube into the room when opened. It does not appear to backflow, nor does the player seem to convert the O2 to CO2, but that requires further testing. There is a single input for gas in the back, and it can accept either O2 or chilled N2O. Testing indicates that even while unpowered, the tube "freezes" a player in time, stopping hunger/thirst/etc. When powered and supplied with O2, it appears to heal the organs of living players. When powered and supplied with -150C N2O, it can revive a dead co-player in a multiplayer setting. If a living player enters the -150C N2O tube, they slowly die but stay "frozen" in the game, until the door is opened and the game recognizes the player has died.
As of V0.2.3761.18233, December 22, 2022 hotfix, cryotubes with any breathable atmosphere heals lung damage.
Data Network Properties
These are all Data Network properties of this device.
Data Parameters
These are all parameters that can be written with a Logic Writer, Batch Writer, or Integrated Circuit (IC10).
Parameter Name | Data Type | Description |
---|---|---|
Open | Boolean | Opens the CryoTube, when set to 1. Closes it, when set to 0. |
On | Boolean | Turns the CryoTube on, when set to 1. Turns it off, when set to 0. |
Data Outputs
These are all parameters, that can be read with a Logic Reader or a Slot Reader. The outputs are listed in the order a Logic Reader's "VAR" setting cycles through them.
Output Name | Data Type | Description |
---|---|---|
Power | Boolean | Returns whether the CryoTube is turned on and receives power. (0 for no, 1 for yes) |
Open | Boolean | Returns whether the CryoTube is open. (0 for no, 1 for yes) |
Error | Boolean | Returns whether the CryoTube is flashing an error. (0 for no, 1 for yes) |
On | Boolean | Returns whether the CryoTube is turned on. (0 for no, 1 for yes) |
RequiredPower | Integer | Returns the current amount of power, required by the CryoTube, in watts. |

- ↑ Steam Forums rocket2guns [developer] 2 Jul, 2017 @ 4:28am Cybernetics for organs are certain, as we already have the heart and lungs as functional organs in the game. We are making these "growable" in cryotubes, but having organs able to be manufactured is also something we want to do.
