Description
Nitrox 35/65 is a gas mixture of 35% oxygen and 65% nitrogen by volume. Nitrox gas mixtures generally refer to those with a oxygen volume fraction greater than 0.2 or air equivalent.
In the scuba diving industry, enriched air nitrox is valued for its ability to reduce the partial pressure of nitrogen in a diver's gas supply, allowing for less nitrogen accumulation in the blood on a dive and reducing the need for decompression if at all.[1] Decompression sickness or oxygen toxicity is not modelled in the game so there are few advantages to producing and consuming Nitrox gas mixtures.
Advantages
- Nitrox gas mixtures have a higher specific heat capacity than air mixtures
- A room filled of enriched air nitrox will have greater temperature stability than regular air
Disadvantages
- To use as a suit air tank, you must carry both nitrogen and carbon dioxide gas filters to prevent suffocation from inert gases accumulation in your helmet
- Enriched air nitrox contains a greater fraction of oxygen by volume, increasing potential fire hazard in the presence of methane or other combustibles
